Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ProvenMath (“ProvenMath,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including this marketing website at provenmath.com and the learning platform at courses.provenmath.com (collectively, the “Service”).
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use ProvenMath on behalf of a school or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
Current access. ProvenMath is free to use at this time. There is no subscription or payment required. Students can sign up and start learning without approval. Teachers and schools apply for access; ProvenMath or an authorized administrator approves those accounts before classroom tools are enabled. We may introduce paid plans, licensing, or other access requirements in the future; we will update these Terms when that happens.
These Terms are a practical starter for an educational product and may be revised as the Service evolves. Have qualified legal counsel review them before relying on them for your organization.
1. Eligibility, approval, and accounts
- You must be old enough to consent to these Terms in your jurisdiction, or use the Service with consent and supervision from a parent, guardian, or authorized school official.
- Teacher and school approval. Teacher and school accounts require approval. ProvenMath or an authorized administrator may approve, deny, suspend, or revoke those accounts at any time. Student accounts can sign up directly unless restricted by a school policy we implement with that institution.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity under your account.
- Account roles (student, teacher, admin, parent) determine what features and data you can access. Do not attempt to access areas or information you are not authorized to view.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a security or legal risk.
2. The Service
ProvenMath provides:
- Structured math courses with lessons, quizzes, tests, and progress tracking
- An AI Socratic tutor tied to the current lesson or assessment
- Teacher tools including class management, gradebook, worksheets, and AI Insights
- Parent/guardian portal access when invited by a student or school
- Optional features such as live class sync, proctoring, and messaging
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We strive for reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purposes
- Harass, bully, or impersonate others
- Share account credentials or attempt to bypass access controls
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service except as permitted by law
- Upload malware, offensive content, or material that infringes others’ rights
- Misuse the AI tutor to obtain unauthorized answers on assessments where your teacher has restricted full solutions, or to generate content that violates academic integrity rules
- Collect or export other users’ personal information without authorization
Teachers and schools are responsible for setting classroom rules and academic integrity expectations for their students.
4. AI features
ProvenMath uses artificial intelligence to provide tutoring hints, adaptive practice, and teacher insights. AI output may be incomplete or incorrect. It is a learning aid, not a substitute for teacher instruction, professional judgment, or emergency help.
- Students should follow teacher and school policies when using the AI tutor.
- Teachers control certain module settings (for example, hint-only modes on quizzes).
- Do not rely on AI responses for high-stakes decisions without human review.
5. Copyright and intellectual property
ProvenMath content
ProvenMath’s software, branding, documentation, course materials, lessons, quizzes, worksheets, and other default content are owned by ProvenMath or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. © 2026 ProvenMath. All rights reserved.
Approved users receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal or authorized educational purposes only. You may not copy, scrape, download for redistribution, republish, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works from ProvenMath content except as explicitly allowed within the Service (for example, printing a worksheet for classroom use) or with our written permission.
Teacher and school content
Teachers, schools, and other authorized users retain ownership of content they create or upload (lessons, quizzes, assets, etc.). By submitting content, you grant ProvenMath a license to host, display, process, and distribute that content solely to operate and improve the Service for your intended use.
Feedback
If you send suggestions or feedback, we may use them without restriction or compensation to you.
6. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
7. Parent and guardian access
Parent portal features are available only through valid invites or school authorization. Guardians may access information made available to them; they must not share portal access with unauthorized parties.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party infrastructure and tools (including Google Firebase and Google Gemini). Your use may also be subject to those providers’ terms. Links to external websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for third-party sites or services.
9. Pricing
The Service is currently provided free of charge to approved users. We may add paid features, subscriptions, or institutional licensing in the future. If we do, we will post updated Terms and communicate material changes before they apply to you where required by law.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
ProvenMath does not guarantee specific learning outcomes, grade improvements, or test scores. Educational results depend on many factors outside our control.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PROVENMATH AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100), EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW. Because the Service is currently free, you have not paid fees for access unless we introduce paid plans in the future.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ProvenMath from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law, except to the extent caused by our negligence or willful misconduct.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if required for security, legal, or operational reasons. Sections that by nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which ProvenMath is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Except where prohibited, disputes will be resolved in the courts located in that state. If you are using the Service as a consumer in a jurisdiction that grants mandatory local rights, those rights are not waived where they cannot be waived by contract.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time — including when we add pricing, change access rules, or expand copyright or licensing terms. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where further consent is required by law.
